This one day workshop has been arranged by Food and Farming Compliance Ltd., to provide an update on the enforcement of offences under the Animal By-Products Regulations in relation to the disposal of animal carcases and the use of expert witnesses in welfare cases. It will also be of importance for the staff of Animal Charities and Quality Assurance Schemes
This workshop will explore the rate at which farm animal carcases decay, which will be invaluable for Animal Health Inspectors and Veterinary Officers involved in the investigation of possible offences in relation to the disposal of animal carcases.
Course members are encouraged to bring with them past cases relating to the disposal of animal carcases for discussion and as a learning aid. It will also outline the use of experts in animal welfare cases and the rules to be followed by the expert and the investigator
This workshop is designed for any authorised person who is responsible for administering and enforcing the provisions of Animal By-Products Regulations and Animal welfare legislation. The course is also designed for those who give expert evidence in animal health and welfare cases and those who investigate such cases and need to call on experts for evidence.
It will be of benefit to experienced officers and for the less experienced as training and guidance. The course is also relevant to the staff of Central Government Departments and Agencies responsible for any aspect of Animal By-Products / Animal Welfare Enforcement or Policy. It will also be relevant to Solicitors and Legal Department staff involved with the conduct, care and control of Animal By-Product and Animal welfare cases.
